Shades of activities

Random thoughts just before I wrap things up for tonight.

I am exquisitely thankful the 2-day exam is over. Happy moments with review buddies, Eva M. and Pat I. will surely be missed! I look forward to the next stage of this course.

What does 50 Shades of Grey mean?

Shades I know, but what makes it 50? LOL. I have no blonde moments but out of curiosity I downloaded the pdf version of E.L. James' book. Initially, I thought it was just all about the mundane desires of a guy.. Lo and behold.. it was.

The first few chapters of the book was entertaining. I was thinking that the author wanted to get straight to her point--- instantaneous coital relationships with the characters. A great deal of suspension of disbelief is necessary in order to accept the story from the heroine's perspective.

I finished reading it, skipping the lengthy contracts they have included in the first series of the novel. I may have missed in great detail their talk slash quarrel about the food... among other clauses that needed to be struck out. It was too repetitious, phrases (exact) appeared so many times... this is the type of book I wouldn't want to read all over again.

My copy of James' book is now heading straight to recycle bin and in a few seconds, will be departing from my lappy's hard drive.

Mayabang Ako Ngayon.

Mayabang Ako Ngayon.

Earlier today(it's Mary's Birthday!), I gave an (first) examination to my literature class. I have been putting it off for so long a time. It was either my students weren't ready or I was just too reluctant to give any. Halfway through perhaps with the exam, I glanced over a student who reciprocated me with a smile. I don't remember if I smiled back. I was busy at the time reading my notes that I'd be presenting at the graduate school. After few minutes, I decided to make my rounds in the room and then... she approached me. She asked me to read a story printed on a paper. Admittedly I was hesitant.. and inquired if what she wanted me to read was a chain mail. She quickly quipped it wasn't and I felt obliged to read it anyway.

The story I read was about a student who was suppose to give a ribbon to a person whom he thinks has changed his life... view the whole article... check the whole article out: http://www.snopes.com/glurge/difference.asp. Mind you though... I've no suicidal tendencies but it's the thought that counts. ;)

After reading it, she 'awarded' me a blue ribbon in front of class and endearingly said that I've made a difference in their or her life.

Salamat sa class ninyo. I would have to say, you bring out the best and good in me. Salamat BSA 1-11.

it reads, "Diosa, The Best"
