Unfortunately, I was already on board the train when one of my students sent me a text message.
"Confirmed na po, walang pasok today."
"Next station, Pureza."
Great. That was the only thing I could think of but no worries. I went to school nonetheless. I saw a lot of students waiting outside the university. It was as though they were waiting for a miracle to happen but alas there was none.
I went to CA Office and fortunately saw some of my colleagues. As usual, we had chitchat about here and that til Sir Dong inquired about my thread on Department of Tourism's slogan. I told him it was an extra activities I gave to my students. It was from him that I learned that DOT has been slacking too much. The creativity gene pool of people in the office committed suicide. Can that be the reason why they could not come up with original title for their ad campaign? Please see this link on DOT's copycat issue.
I've read so many great slogans from my students who participated in the discussion #16 . I can not say much for DOT nor to their ad company they hired. Shame. Big shame. Is there really more fun in copying others' ideas? Is it fun to shell out money (Php 5M to the ad company who 'coined' the slogan) to something not even worth a dime?
Ang Propesora rambles.
